Gaufre’s and Goods

This small eatery , owned by Darius and Grace Dzierlatka, on Aviles Street in Saint Augustine has a unique menu. One item, Gaufres or waffles, is their specialty. Made from scratch with special flour imported from Europe, these crispy waffles are served with a choice of many toppings like fresh seasonal fruits and fresh whipped cream. Polish and Greek salads, soups, pierogies, pastries and more are all made on the premises. Darius uses as much local produce as he can. For example, honey for the authentic baklava comes from Palatka and vegetables come from Hastings in season. Some of the authentic dishes are new to many Americans. Have you heard of Pyzy? Available at Gaufre’s and Goods, these are dumplings stuffed with meat, a traditional South Poland treat. Homemade foods from Poland, Greece, and America combine to make this a delightful, dining experience. Coffee and desserts can now be enjoyed at their new additional location at 212 Charlotte Street.
