Meredith Corey-Disch has filled a niche in the Murray Hill and surrounding neighborhoods by creating their popular sourdough breads, pasteries, and lunch items that follow the Slow Food ethic. Their following is growing weekly from what began as a bicycle delivery service to an expanded store front and dining room on Edgewood Avenue. Meredith is an experienced baker. She produces craft breads using only the available yeasts in their environment (no commercial stuff here) combined with organic and stone ground flours. Adding only local or organic ingredients like cheeses, vegetables, fruits, herbs, and nuts ….the display case is filled with fresh baked treats and plenty of options are available from the breakfast lunch menu. Sit down or take out.

Current sources of organic products are: Snail of Approval awarded Down to Earth and Traders Hill Farms, as well as Frog Song Organics. Additional local sources include: Wainwright and Sweetgrass Dairys, Lindley Mills stone ground and organic flours, Maybell Blueberries, and pasture raised Bethesda Eggs.

These crusty loaves have that dense sour dough texture that followers love… you can find multiple grains and bagettes for purchase. These nutrient filled loaves are sure to satisfy. Try the House Salas topped with a pastured egg or tempeh or how about a Sweet Potato & Lil’Moo Sandwich on Rosemary and Garlic olive oil grilled bread.
