KARMA ACRES
Karma Acres is located near the 10,000 acre Four Creeks State Forrest, which provides the soil and sunlight to support local honey production. In addition, Lisa is carrying on the beekeeping tradition at her family's farm off of Dunn Avenue. This farm has been producing honey since 1816. Its safe to say this is a traditional pioneer family endeavor.
Lisa harvests twice a year and also moves some of the hives to local pesticide free locations according to what is in bloom. Extraction, filtration and bottling is completed on site in the “honey house”. Currently her hives are located on some of Slow Foods Snail of Approval recipient farms and Black Sheep restaurant is a regular honey customer. Lisa also sells nucleus hives to help newcomers to beekeeping.
Lisa is a master Beekeeper, a member of the Jacksonville Beekeepers Association and past president of the the Nassau County Beekeepers Assoc. In addition, she manages multiple community apiaries and is an Advanced Beekeeper in the Master Beekeeping Program through UF. You can find Karma Acres honey at Amelia Island Coffee and the Conscious Market in Hyperion Brewery, Springfield and many local events throughout the community. You can even call ahead and pick up honey at the farm.
