Culture in a Cup

Laura and Steve Hannan, both teachers, have created a lively artisan business by selling enhanced gourmet teas to customers at two area farmers’ markets.  They have developed close relationships with local farmers to ensure that the infused teas include the freshest ingredients; citrus, blueberries, blackberries, strawberries, honey, herbs and more are all grown nearby. At the Beaches Green Market the Hannans sell not only hot and cold teas but also soups, stews and salads from seasonal meats and vegetables, many of which are vegan and gluten free.  The farmers at this market suggest seasonal farm products on hand that Steve and Laura might include for their food products the next week, such as citrus basil vinaigrette or white bean and kale soup. The Culture in a Cup menu board always lists the farmers who have contributed produce. This symbiotic relationship works well for both the farmer and Culture in a Cup.

The Hannans cater special events that require vegan and/or gluten free foods.  Also, ordering a tea from their website is an education in itself because they have so many to choose from – white, green, black, oolong, herbal and more.  These “tea people” can answer any questions about their passion, TEAS from around the world.
