Located just off of route 207 on county road 305 in Elkton you will find a market place for local, fresh from the field produce that is arriving directly and daily from nearby farms. In addition to a variety of meats, seafood, freshly baked breads, bulk items, dairy, and honey available for your purchase, you will find that special events and dinners are featured prominently at Rype and Readi. You will also observe busloads of school children visiting the demonstration gardens, seeing the animals up close and personal while learning about how and where their food is grown. Currently there are approximately 15 local farms contributing to the seasonal offerings and the on-site demonstration garden, hoop house, hydroponics, and mushroom cultivation add to the market selections. Slow Food First Coast recognized heritage foods, the Dancy Tangerine and our famous Datil peppers, can be found and if you have a sweet tooth, you will also see local honey and cane syrup. You may even find black cane growing in the fields in the near future.
